At Yin & Yoga we strive to keep the yoga styles simple, pure and accessible. We  allow our students to explore their own yoga at their own pace.

 

Our skilled and caring teachers are encouraged to bring and develop their own teaching style and voice allowing for a unique yoga experience every time.   

Yin Yoga

Yin Yoga is the signature class of the studio.

It is a slow paced style of yoga with mostly floor based postures held for longer periods of time (3-5 mins). Yin yoga targets stresses the deep (yin) connective tissues of the body: ligaments, tendons, joints, bones and fascia.

Some of the yin postures are followed by more dynamic (yang) counter postures to move stagnated chi (energy flow) and to create a balanced and a complete yoga practice.

All levels welcome.

 Bikram Inspired Yoga

This class is derived from and inspired by the Beginners Bikram yoga sequence. Yin & Yoga’s Bikram Inspired Yoga introduces some slight variations and modifications to bring balance and softness to each class.

 

Taught at room temperature (not hot!)

Pregnancy Yoga

 This class is based on the official Bikram Pregnancy Yoga series.

 

You will work on exercises to strengthen and tone your ever changing body to make you stronger and to help you have a healthier pregnancy.

 

The class will also include pelvic floor exercises, gentle stretching and breathing techniques.

 

This is a low impact class suitable for all levels of fitness. and for women who are 12+ weeks pregnant.

 

Classes will be smaller than normal with no waiting lists so please book early to avoid disappointment. 

Restorative Yoga

This class is designed for deep relaxation. The class will begin with centering the body and mind, followed by gentle stretches and restorative postures to gradually open the body and develop a sense of deep restoration.

 

Props will be used to support the poses so that you can relax completely and open gently.

 

Finish feeling refreshed, restored and renewed!

 

All levels welcome.

YinFlow Yoga

A slow flowing floor-based Yin class, moving into held postures.

 

This practice invites you to release tension in body and mind, as you move and then surrender to gravity.

Bespoke Yoga

Private 'Y&Y  Bespoke' yoga is a fully customised experience including a choice of location, yoga style and focus areas.

 

The choice is yours and we will carefully craft each session around your needs and wants.

Seniors Yoga

Seniors Yoga is a gentle class incorporating a range of movement exercises, alignment, stretching, strengthening, awareness, breathing and relaxation.

 

Ideal to refresh, energize, improve posture, deepen breathing and improve your sense of well-being.  

 

Suitable for anyone aged at least 60 years old.

Essential Flow Yoga

Essential Flow is a slow paced yet dynamic yoga class which links fluid movement with the breath, creating a movement meditation from beginning to end.

We start with warming the body with a variety of sun salutations and then build on this heat with standing and balancing postures to tone and energise the body. The seated and finishing postures allow time for deep stretching, detoxification and relaxation.

Expect to leave your mat feeling energised and toned with a sense of mental calm.

All levels welcome.

Mum & Baby Yoga

This is a fun and gentle class suitable for mom or dad and baby (2 months to crawling)!
